    Description

    Up for your consideration is this very rare antique fan advertising Glen Rock Beverages and Glen Rock Bottling Works of Waukegan Illinois. The fan is made of lithograph printed cardboard with a wood handle and it measures about 14" by 8". Judging be the woman's Edwardian hair style I would guess this dates from circa 1910.  The back reads as follows: KEEP COOL!  DRINK GLEN ROCK BEVERAGES, "THE BETTER SODA WATER", GLEN ROCK BOTTLING WORKS. PHONE 405, WAUKEGAN, ILLINOIS.  There is also small print on the back that reads: THE BLANCHARD Co., AURORA, ILL..  There are several creases in the cardboard but there are no tears and nothing is missing. The back has an area about 2" by 2" that looks like silverfish or some other insect ate the coating off of the top of the cardboard. It appears whiter in the photograph. There are some light pencil markings on the back.  All in all a very rare item in fair condition.
