    Description

    Offered for sale is a pottery jar classified as Northern Tewa / Northern Rio Grande Historic Plainware / Santa Clara Black, dating from the early - to - late 19th century. The exterior is smudged and highly polished, though the surface of this jar has some abrasion and mineral deposits, as shown in the photos. Additionally shown is a shallow 3/16" chip to the scalloped rim. The jar is 5 3/4 inches high and 5 3/4 inches at its widest point.
