    Description

Pacific Northwest Native Art Crooked Beak Mask Print
This is a framed print which is entitled "Crooked Beak Mask",  "King & I" and numbered 39/50.
There is a raised seal indicating this print was copyright in 1972 in ? Harbor, WA.
Please see the photos for specifics.
The print is matted under a black matte, framed in a silver metal frame, and is ready to hang.
    The frame measures 20 1/4 x 18 1/4 x 3/4".
The mask depicted in this print is very similar to the "mask of the crooked beak" (Galukw'amhl) which was made as part of a set of hamatsa masks (c 1940) by Willie Seaweed (1873-1967). Masks such as the crooked beak are still made and used in dances by contemporary Kwakwaka'wakw artists and inheritors of this privilege. (You can read more about this on the Seattle Art Museum website.)
The print appears to be in very good condition, with no noted issues.
