Oven Door Glass RepairADHESIVE GLUE KIT
This kit has been specially designed for the repair of glass oven door hinges / brackets that have come unstuck. The kit is also suited to smaller pieces of glass that are glued directly to the oven door (we recommend a maximum of 48" circumference assuming the glass fits flush with the metal door and there is no lip on which it sits - please see our
large oven door glass glue kit
where the glass is glued directly and is larger than 48" circumference, or sits on a metal lip that requires additional 'filler' adhesive)
Highest quality, Black High Temperature silicone adhesive (as used in industry in oven manufacture).
Scraper to remove the old silicone adhesive - American Line or Personna (exactly the same scraper, different packet).
A spatula to spread the adhesive
Disposable gloves to keep yourself clean.
The silicone adhesive, which has a service temperature o
f 572º Fahrenheit (300º C) when fully cured, is supplied in a syringe applicator for easy control. The adhesive cures at room temperature. You should allow 24 hours for the silicone to cure throughout its thickness before placing a load on the hinges or brackets that have been repaired.
It should be noted that no fresh silicone adhesive will adhere well to a previously cured layer of adhesive, so it is important that the old adhesive is removed as thoroughly as possible. To help achieve this we provide a reversible razor scraper which can be used to effectively remove the old adhesive - then keep it for other jobs around the home.
A pair of disposable gloves is included to help prevent skin contact with the adhesive.
The adhesive is food safe once cured.
