Lot VINTAGE NATIVE AMERICAN INDIAN BEAD WORK and FRAGMENTS
THIS ENTIRE LOT IS SOLD ON ITS MERIT AND WITHOUT ANY CLAIMS AS TO TRIBAL ORIGIN.
In the 1970;s into the 1980's I made frequent AMTRAK trips from Milwaukee (Chicago) to LA and on to SF Bay.
Along the way, I would almost always lay over in Albuquerque, New Mexico and bought quite a lot from the Native American Indians. Indians would sell Native American jewelry, bead work and pottery along the tracks (AMTRAK).
I bought mostly from whom I believed to be Navajo. Some of what I bought was contemporary (1970's) and some objects were very old.
I bought mostly on an objects artistic merit. I never had any academic interest in artists, tribes or age. I was just a collector.
Southwest (Albuquerque, New Mexico), Native American, Navajo and possibly Mexican objects.
