This Vase was displayed at the Zeitner Geological Museum in Mission, South Dakota on the Rosebud Reservation, until 1976 when the museum was closed. Pottery in storage since. G. B. Zeitner, Proprietor, acquired this pottery on a road trip to the Southwest, in the late teens or early 1920's, to exhibit in his museum. Piece appears to have signature of "Red Shoal" on base in pencil,
along
with piece of tape with G. B. s' initials and the same artists name.
I believe this was before the east coast museums came to New Mexico and advised the Pueblos to start signing their work. I can find no record of Red Shoal.
