Historic Silver 4 Patards or Stuivers, Dated 1536, minted in Antwerp during the remarkable reign of the Holy Roman Emperor Charles V, king of Spain. Weight - 5.8g. Coin was evidently cleaned at some point in history. A beautiful specimen from the period when coins become larger due to the abundance of silver being mined in the new world and Mexico, The first mint in the new world was opened in 1536 at Mexico city, in the old palace of Hernan Cortez.
