    Description

Beginning in 1972 I found myself regularly on flights around the midwest. At the time, most of my destinations from Chicago O'Hare were served by United Airlines. I was flying every week to different cities: Akron/Canton (CAK), Omaha (OMA), Cincinnati (CVG), Cleveland (CLE), Detroit (DTW), Kansas City (MCO), Milwaukee (MKE), Minneapolis (MSP), Pittsburgh (PIT), and more. One of the early “perk” programs United Airlines created was the Executive Air Travel Program. It was primarily a way for frequent travelers to track their mileage, which I did. On a regular basis we received a limited edition Nixon Galloway (1927-2003) print from United, celebrating one of United’s current or former aircraft. Each time I received one of these prints I looked at it, read the info, and then filed it away.
The original series (I'm told) included 42 paintings. 24 prints of those images are here, and each measures approximately 8.5" x 11". Each one is identified with the original airline name (United or some other early branding of what became United Airlines,) aircraft manufacturer’s name, the aircraft name/type and/or shorthand ID, and the approximate date it began flying for the airline. In addition, where indicated with the letter "L", the letter accompanying the print is included (16), and where indicated with the letter "C", the information card (which includes great technical information about the plane) for the print is included (20).The collection includes:
    Stout, Ford 2-AT, 1925. L.
National Air Transport, Aerial Mercury, 1926. L. C.
    Pacific Air Transport, Douglas M-3, 1927. C.
Pacific Air Transport, Fokker “Universal”, 1927. L.
National Air Transport, Travel Air 5000, 1928
Pacific Air Transport, Waco “Taperwing” 10 T, 1929
National Air Transport, Curtis Falcon, 1929. L. C.
    United, Boeing 80 A, 1929. C.
    National Air Transport, Stinson SM-8A, 1931. C.

    Capital Airlines, Lockheed L-049 Constellation, 1950. L. C.
    United, Boeing Stratocruiser, 1950. L. C.

    United, Convair 340, 1952. L. C.
    United, Douglas DC-7, 1954. L. C.
    United, Douglas DC8, 1959. L. C.
    United, Boeing 720, 1960. L. C.
    United, Sud Caravelle, 1961. L. C.
    United, Boeing 747, 1970. C.
Some of these vintage lithographs do show some aging, mostly around the edges. For example, the Boeing StratoCruiser has a wrinkled upper right corner, the Fairchild C-82 has a very slight crease in the lower right corner. Given the age of these prints (40-50 years) they are in very good shape. When framed, these will all look stunning to decorate an office, leisure space or as gifts.
I will also, at no additional charge, ship to the successful buyer, any more of these prints that I find tucked away in our storage space.
Shipping is free via USPS Priority Mail to the lower 48 states. Alaska and Hawaii and U.S. territories are more. International shipping is available on request for an additional fee.
