The builder was the renowned Richard Petty's Garage, and the car was shown at SEMA with Continental Tire. This vehicle has been paired with a supercharged LT4 engine and a 6-speed manual transmission. This engine has so much torque, it is simply astounding! Gather 'round GMC Jimmy and Chevrolet Blazer lovers alike, because this Jimmy is one wild ride.
BODY OVERVIEW: The body on this Jimmy is clean, straight, and nearly flawless. This is a vehicle that has truly been taken to the next level! The edges are crisp and the body lines are straight. This truck is the definition of the premium quality that can be expected from the likes of Petty's Garage. Don't let the big tires and the lift scare you; with the retractable side steps, vehicle entry is easy! This truck will turn some heads, even when it is parked!
PAINT CONDITION OVERVIEW: Finished in a special ruby red metallic paint with a carbon fiber wrapped hard top, the paint on this Jimmy is nothing short of stunning. The paint is slick with a deep gloss and a tasteful metallic finish; just enough to catch your eye but not enough to blind you. The paint job is high-quality that shows well, and remains in SEMA-quality show condition. This color suits the styling of the 1989 Jimmy extremely well, but also hints that there's more to this truck than can be seen.
INTERIOR CONDITION OVERVIEW: The goal for this car was to end up with a highly modified example that didn't disrespect the original styling. The interior is a beautiful Ferrari tan leather that goes well with the special ruby red metallic paint and the carbon fiber wrapped hard top. The aftermarket gauges (which are analog with digital readouts including odometer) provide accurate readings with a modern flash, without detracting from the classic squarebody styling of the dash. It even has a tilt column and air conditioning! The interior is in fantastic condition, with only 856 miles covered since the truck was built.
MECHANICAL OVERVIEW: If you're not already excited about this truck, what's under the hood is where the excitement should begin. From the tires to the top of the car, everything was special in the construction of this vehicle. The engine has 650 horsepower and 650 lbs of torque and is capable of more should you desire it! Before you increase the boost and put in larger injectors for more power, be sure you can handle what is readily available under the hood! This engine has so much torque, you can drive it for economy, or you can punch it for more thrills! With the 38-in tires, mated with a 4:11 rear end and the overdrive transmission, at 70 mph the engine is only turning 1600 to 1700 RPMs for good economy. This truck is an easy one to get carried away with, but not to worry, oversized four-wheel disc brakes help to control your enthusiasm! There is not another K5 built to this standard. As seen in the photos, just about every inch of this truck has been upgraded in some way, shape, or form. When the engine starts, you will immediately know this is a special vehicle!
