    Description

Nice circulated example of the Snow-1 Doubled Die 1887 Indian Head cent in die stage B.  This is a TOP-10 of Indian Head varieties.  Note the diagnostics of the small, faint die crack through the lower loops of the "88" and along on to the bottom of the "7".  Also, doubling of "AMERICA" on the right side of the letters.  Reverse diagnostics show upper points of the shield touching the denticles as well as the olive leaf at about 8:00. Nice coloring, although the photo seems to show it to be splotchy.  I think more of a digital issue...but the coin exhibits a nice original brown, but appears a bit dirty through the legend letters. Grading is certainly a subjective opinion, and you may or may not agree with my assessment, and it is in my best opinion that this coin would grade at Choice-Very Fine compared with examples shown in PCGS Photograde.  Nice investment at the offered price.
