1600s Spanish COB ‘pirate’ coins, treasure of 7 pieces - metal detector finds !!
This lot consists of 7 pieces copper Maravedi coins found in Spain with a metal detector.
As shown, some show some wear, you get 7 Cobs, which are hand hammered coins, mostly 1600s.
Cobs were often made in the Spanish colonies under crude conditions, then shipped back to Spain for specie.
As a result, cobs became potential pirate booty.
Called ‘pirate coins’ by some. A n uncleaned COB is included to show how they look when dug up.
Comes with a COA.
